15th Gourmet Week
In September, everything at the AVITA Resort traditionally revolves around the theme of culinary delights and regional delicacies. The combination of good entertainment combined with excellent food has proven itself. In 2022, the Gourmet Week was even awarded the new Burgenland wine tourism prize – the golden grape – as one of the best wine tourism concepts. As part of the 15th AVITA Gourmet Week, guests will once again be delighted with a varied program centered around culinary experiences.

Program
Get together | Sunday, September 10
The gourmet week kicked off with a get-together on the hotel terrace! Over champagne, finger food and live music, people got chatting, enjoyed seeing familiar faces and welcomed new guests. A great start to a beautiful week.


Pleasure Mile | Monday, September 11
At the “ Genussmeile ” on Monday, our guests could expect various pleasure stations and a look behind the scenes of the kitchen team – with a pleasant kitchen chat with our chef Markus Marhanek and his team.
Pleasure hike | Tuesday, September 12
In addition to culinary experiences, activities in the beautiful region were also highly valued. Real crowd favorites: the pleasure hike and the pleasure bike ride. This year the route of the hike led through the natural jewel Willersdorfer Gorge. Along the route, which is flowed through by the lovely Willersbach, participants expected enjoyment stations with regional delicacies. The event was rounded off by a convivial afternoon with a traditional meal and musical accompaniment at a typical Heurigen restaurant in southern Burgenland.


AVITA Star Guest Gala | Wednesday, September 13
One of the very special highlights of the week was the gala dinner, where every guest became a star on the red carpet. Top motivated, AVITA chef Markus Marhanek and his kitchen brigade set out for top performance. 7 courses, each a treat for the palate, connected in a creative way an ingredient. This is obvious in the second largest wine province of Austria: wine! The delicate dinner was complemented with an exquisite wine accompaniment, selected by restaurant manager and wine expert Wolfgang Pöll.
Pasta & more | Thursday, September 14
Thursday was dedicated to the Italian delicacy. Medita chef Peter Nemeth and his team made a culinary presentation and served a wide variety of pasta variations from a food truck.


Pleasure cycling| Friday, September 15
This year, for the first time, the brand-new AVITA picnic backpacks, filled with with a choice of Italian, Burgenland or vegan delicacies., to the use came. Started along the railroad cycle path- the route led to a fabulous fish pond in Rotenturm, where there was a little refreshment. On the way back, a stop was made for a picnic in the countryside. An experience to remember: cycling through the idyllic nature of southern Burgenland paired with a delicious picnic in good company.
Market Day | Friday, September 15
Regionality naturally plays an important role at the AVITA Resort. Top producers of the region are represented in the daily menu. At the market day “Wine, Kas` and Co” in the noble ambience of the hotel lobby these were brought before the curtain and present there guests their products very closely.


O'zapft is"| Saturday, September 16
The finale was the traditional “O’zapft is” toast to the beautiful days! Celebrated with beer tapping, Weißwurst, pretzels and music on the hotel terrace – a rustic experience.
Austrian specialties buffet | Saturday, September 16
Here, fans of Austrian cuisine got their money’s worth. Numerous typical specialties awaited our guests.
