The Uhudler sauna – a declaration of love for the specialty from southern Burgenland. Encounter a piece of Burgenland cultural history in the sauna Garden of Eden and enjoy wine and wellness. Two sauna cabins are dedicated to the tangy wine variety from southern Burgenland: the Uhudler-Laube and the Uhudler-Kellerstöckl. For the outdoor area of the two saunas, a typical southern Burgenland Kellerstöckl served as inspiration.

In the Uhudler arbor sauna, the finest sauna pleasure awaits you "under the arbor". In the Kellerstöckl sauna you sit virtually directly in the wine cellar - decorative wine barrels included. In terms of temperature and humidity, the two saunas are a Finnish sauna experience. At 90-100 °C and 10% humidity, you will work up a good sweat. Your cardiovascular system is strengthened and the skin texture is refined.
And the Uhudler? Do not worry: we do not pour with Uhudler!
During various rituals related to Uhudler, you will experience this unique product from southern Burgenland in different ways and get to know wine and wellness at its finest. Whether as a refreshing conclusion after an infusion with fragrant grape seed oil, as grape marc or in the form of an Uhudler spritzer for a cozy finish in the sauna bar.
Things to know about Uhudler
In southern Burgenland, a wine matures that can only be found here and nowhere else in Austria: Uhudler. No other wine is as rooted in southern Burgenland as Uhudler. Ringing names like Ripatella, Delaware, Concord and Elvira are ungrafted varieties, so-called direct carriers, that have been here for over 100 years. And the wine already pressed at that time received the name Uhudler from the women of the winegrowers, because the look after excessive consumption resembled an "eagle owl". Uhudler is a purely natural product. It loves natural conditions and, as a direct carrier, is extremely resistant to phylloxera and fungal diseases. Therefore, no chemical plant protection is necessary. The color varies from a pale straw to light yellow in the white Uhudler. From the blue grapes, the color palette can produce a soft pink, light cherry red to brick red.
And every time you open an Uhudler, you bring the characteristics of the region into your wine glass. On the nose, the Uhudler from southern Burgenland has a pronounced fruity note of wild berries, bright berries, as well as a stunning fruitiness.

Due to the small-scale cultivation of Uhudler (in the village of Eltendorf, for example, 4 hectares of Uhudler cultivation area were divided among 36 families!), this has always connected people. The families worked close to each other at the vineyard and thus also celebrated together. “At the vineyard one got stuck” – This sociability and conviviality, which has always been associated with Uhudler, are essential characteristics of the mentality of southern Burgenland.
