My
Internship
at AVITA

For 2 months this summer I was allowed to complete my internship at the AVITA Resort. I was able to gain a lot of new experiences and at the same time I was able to meet some great new people.
My first day
I had my first day at the AVITA Resort on June 1, 2023. It was my first internship, which is why I was very nervous on the way to work, and to be honest, a bit scared. However, this nervousness and all the negative thoughts surrounding my new job were also gone pretty quickly. From the first moment I felt very comfortable and was positively surprised. All employees were always very accommodating, which is why I was able to integrate myself pretty quickly.

My tasks in the service
I spent my first month in the service department of the AVITA Resort. There was always a regular routine and everyone knew exactly what they had to do. Between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., it was all about the lunch snack. Drinks were poured and served, and guests’ plates were cleared. Between 14.00 and 16.30 we prepared everything for dinner. For the afternoon, everyone was given a different task to complete. One had to prepare the buffet for the evening, another set the table, there was vacuuming, old bottles were disposed of and new ones were refilled. Just before dinner, the final preparations were made. A small meeting was also on the program every day. We discussed who would take which station and if a guest had allergies or special requests for a particular meal. At about 6 p.m. the first guests arrived. Between 20.30 and 21.00, then also the last guests made their way to the bar and the restaurant was empty. Until about 9:30 p.m. we cleaned everything and then it was already closing time.A new workplace
On June 28, 2023, I had my last working day in the Service Department. After a 4-day break, marketing continued on Monday, 03.07.2023. Unlike in the service department, I was no longer nervous on my first day of work. After my first day in Marketing, it was immediately clear to me that I could not compare this department with my previous one at all. The working hours alone were absolutely different. I started every day at 7:30 and was allowed to go home at 4:30. On Fridays I was off work at 2 p.m. and on weekends I was off work. My tasks usually varied from day to day, though sometimes I had projects that ran over a longer period of time. For a long time I worked on this blog, for example, and on the new picnic backpacks. I was also allowed to distribute the new magazines to the partner businesses, as well as in the hotel itself. A lot of research was also always on my daily agenda. For example, I was looking for experience points near the AVITA resort, which were also summarized in a blog.

"I learned a few things that I'm sure I'll be grateful for in my future working life."
They were very beautiful and yet also exhausting months. I learned a few things that I’m sure I’ll be grateful for in my later working life. These months were also very helpful for my later career decision. I can clearly say that I am glad to have done my internship at the AVITA Resort.
