Important information for your visit to the spa

Hygiene & Bathing Regulations

Relaxation, well-being and a pleasant atmosphere are at the heart of the AVITA Therme Bad Tatzmannsdorf. To ensure that all guests can enjoy their time in our swimming and sauna area without any worries, we ask you to observe the current guidelines on hygiene and cleanliness, as well as the swimming and sauna rules.

These rules apply to the relevant areas of the AVITA Therme and help to ensure a safe, hygienic and relaxing visit. Please familiarise yourself with the key information before your visit.

Hygiene & Cleanliness

Hygiene and cleanliness are a top priority at the AVITA Resort. You will find all the important information you need for an enjoyable stay clearly set out in the information leaflet.

Under the Bathing Hygiene Act, the water quality of all pools at the AVITA Therme is tested once a year by an independent testing body, the Neusiedlersee Biological Station, Water Analysis Department.

In addition, we undergo a voluntary inspection on a quarterly basis. Twice a day, trained pool attendants check the water parameters and record the readings in an operations log. Furthermore, an automatic monitoring and control system checks the chlorine levels (free and combined chlorine) and the pH of the water 24 hours a day.

Every lifeguard at the AVITA Therme has been made aware of the Bathing Hygiene Act. Compliance with this regulation is strictly monitored by our technical services department. Our water treatment plant is state-of-the-art and meets the requirements of the Bathing Hygiene Act.

All pools are cleaned daily using a multi-layer filter (gravel of various sizes and activated carbon). The filters for pools with temperatures above 34 °C are flushed daily, whilst those for pools with temperatures below 34 °C are flushed every other day.

As stated on the notice displayed outside each cabin, our saunas are regularly disinfected and cleaned for the sake of your health.

The shower cubicles are cleaned daily with Calexan forte and vinegar-based cleaner (Hagleitner); the toilet facilities with Urophen and Perlglanz (Hagleitner); and the floors with Wetrok floor and Calexan forte. Once a week, the premises are spray-disinfected with Hygiene 3000 (Hagleitner). The shower and toilet facilities and saunas are checked and cleaned every hour.

Once a year, all pools are completely drained and thoroughly cleaned in accordance with the Swimming Pool Hygiene Act. A thorough clean is also carried out in all areas.

Our staff undergo regular hygiene training.

Staff ensure the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the entire swimming and sauna area. Our guests are also asked to adhere to the swimming and sauna rules.

We are confident that we can guarantee our guests a high standard of hygiene. We would be happy to give you an insight into the hygiene plan and water treatment procedures at the AVITA Therme.
